Hayley Jay Vanity is the only daughter of -former Hogwarts student and Slytherin Quidditch captain- Emma Vanity. She was given up for adoption at an early age and was quickly adopted by Amelie and Josh Harris and lives with them in Scotland, when not at Hogwarts. At an early age she was always interested in music and she now plays guitar, piano, keytar and synth. Due to strange happenings around the house, Hayley knew she was different from the other kids and kept it to herself. When she got her letter through for Hogwarts both parents were surprised at her ‘gifts’ and welcomed them with open arms. At the age of 11 when she was due to go to Hogwarts and she seriously debated about not attending, but in the end her parents convinced her to go. Never knowing her mother never bothered her and she is happy with her adoptive family. She is an independent person and aims to focus on her music, something that she picked up from Amelie. However, she can be extremely lazy and takes procrastinating to a new level. She is a sweet, caring person, who can also be a bit dismissive, even though she doesn’t mean to be. Hayley almost always has a smile on her face, even in tough times. She has a pet cat, Coal, that was given to her by her parents. Coal gained its name after she opened her present and seen a giant lump of black; Hayley assumed this was actually a lump coal.

- Only knows a small amount of things about her mother. Hayley is aware that her mother married her childhood sweetheart Rupert Prince and she assumes that he is her father since she hasn’t heard of any other name. AFTER HOGWARTS
- Hayley took over her muggle grandfathers business empire and started up a few of her own in the wizarding world. She was skeptical at first, but decided that it was the wisest thing to do and she was interested in everything. The Harris empire, owns businesses ranging from aeronautical engineering all the way down to simple banking. The empire is worth a ridiculous amount of money. Hayley often fails to trust people because most people just want to be her friend because of the money she has.
- Decided not to pursue a career in music because she didn’t want it to feel like a job and she didn’t want to risk losing her love for it
- Finally met her biological mother and father. She decided to give them a chance after they wanted to get to know her. She is often seen out with them
- Got back together with her ex Shane after she left Hogwarts, they were engaged and she broke it off after they had gotten into a massive argument. They haven’t spoke since.
- Had a pregnancy scare with Shane and was secretly relieved that she wasn’t going to have a child with him.
